Baroque interior paintings developed and progressed at the end of 2022 : it all began with a small study on card and looking back at Baroque Interior work in the mid nineties.
Influenced then by the resurgence of women artists in Art History . I focussed in  particular on the Baroque period in acknowledgement where
women have appeared in paintings as allegorical characters,
often as tropes from religious or mythological sources with its use of the female body used nude or scantily clothed. Women painters in that period took ownership , they knew full well how it feels to have a female body in its strength , vulnerability and  sexual identity.
My attention was drawn how many paintings in this period were portraits of women , whose name was either not contributed .
I chose to name a few painting then simply portrait of a woman . The interior in these painting equally implies  the body interior.

F
or this series of Baroque interior both the interior and the suggestive body element remains elusive and fragmented and whilst painting through these I came to the realisation that the young artist , who enthusiastically embraced this discovery of women’s art empowerment is no longer there and the work has moved on .
